It’s been difficult to feel like we can control the things that we are typically accustomed to in the past year, however one thing I am certain of is that you have been able to continue to build foundation of love and belonging in your home that has brought me so much solace. This weekend was yet another reminder of the strength and care that endures within the Mao and Sheng lineage, and the fact that you have truly made me feel like your son and not just a “son-in-law” is a true testament to this notion. This is a special day when we have the opportunity to more overtly or directly celebrate you, but I committed to celebrating you and what you represent each day. Despite the temporary limits that have collectively been placed on us all and those that you have had to endure recently, I hope you were able to make this day truly your’s.  Happy Birthday and I love you!
